Role Summary: We are seeking a Senior Polymer Scientist with specialized expertise in the formulation and application of thermoplastic materials. This role demands a professional who is adept at developing custom formulations for a wide range of thermoplastic materials, including but not limited to PP, PE, PET, ABS, and PVC. The successful candidate will lead R&D projects aimed at enhancing product functionalities and will collaborate closely with internal teams and customers to meet market demands and innovate new solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and optimize custom formulations for thermoplastic materials used in diverse manufacturing processes.
- Lead R&D initiatives from conceptualization to market launch, ensuring products meet both technical and commercial objectives.
- Collaborate with internal teams such as Sales, Operations, and other R&D personnel to align project goals and execution plans.
- Manage the transition of projects from development to production, including scaling up processes and troubleshooting during initial manufacturing phases.
- Actively engage with clients to tailor solutions and respond to technical queries, reinforcing strong customer relationships.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of market trends and advancements in thermoplastic technologies to foster innovation within the company.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- PhD preferred; minimum of a BS or MS in Engineering, Chemistry, Polymer Science, or a closely related field.
- Extensive experience in thermoplastic formulation and application, particularly in industries involved in compounding, masterbatch concentrates, or end-use manufacturing (injection molding, blow molding, extrusion).
- Demonstrated capability to lead complex R&D projects and translate them into viable commercial products.
- Proficient in utilizing modern analytical and project management tools to drive results and improve processes.
- Strong communication skills, capable of effectively negotiating and presenting complex information to stakeholders and team members.
