Full Job Description

What you'll be doing:

Continental Disc Corporation, LLC (“CDC”) designs and manufactures safety-critical products that protect pressure-containing vessels from catastrophic failure. CDC is headquartered in Liberty, MO, and has manufacturing operations in Houston, TX, and Ahmedabad, India with additional sales offices in India, the Netherlands and China. CDC’s customers include blue-chip companies in the chemicals, oil and gas, pharmaceutical, general industrial, aerospace, defense, food and beverage, municipal, and other markets globally.

A Final Shipper verifies quantity, content and “ship to” information of merchandise submitted for shipment, prepares it for shipping and ensures that it is shipped in accordance with company manufacturing and shipping procedures and safety policies. This is a 1st shift opportunity working 8am - 4pm daily, Monday - Friday. An occasional Saturday and some overtime may be required.

  • Generate Quality Control certificates, box labels and tags as required by print or procedure.
  • Perform final work order check and weld tags to discs as appropriate
  • Pack all individual disc or holder items per procedure to ensure safe shipment to the customer
  • Verify that all items of a sales order are present
  • Complete packing list
  • Re-pack order into master crate or carton, building wooden crates as needed
  • Determine carrier / method of shipment per shop order and arrange for shipment accordingly
  • Generate “ship to” address marking
  • Provide any customer specified exterior carton marking, dimension and weights
  • Perform other duties as assigned, based on workload and business need

Requirements

What you bring to the table:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1-3 months work experience in a production environment
  • Previous experience in a production position is preferred
  • Basic math and reading skills
  • Ability to read a tape measure
  • Computer skills sufficient to work with carrier websites and generate labels
  • Ability to use tools required by the position, including but not limited to, spot welder, riveter, grinders, sanders, power saws, nail gun, tape gun, heat sealer, stapler and forklift
  • Willingness and ability to follow all manufacturing procedures and company policies
  • Attention to detail
  • Concern for quality, accuracy and safety
  • Ability to stay on task and manage time efficiently to meet deadlines
  • Positive attitude and ability to work well with others, including peers, supervisors, executive management and outside vendors, representatives and visitors when called upon
  • Motor skills sufficient to successfully and safely use required tools and machinery
  • Ability to stand and/or walk for majority of scheduled shift, typically 8-10 hours per day, though possibly more when overtime is required
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed daily
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment, including safety glasses and safety shoes
