Full Job Description
Brief Overview:

The Safety Coordinator supports the Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) team by conducting safety inspections, maintaining compliance records, and assisting with employee training. This role is essential in promoting a culture of safety and ensuring that our workplace remains compliant, efficient, and hazard-free.
Responsibilies:
Safety Program Support:
· Conduct regular safety audits and inspections of work areas, equipment, and processes.
· Identify hazards, recommend corrective actions, and follow up to ensure resolution.
· Support the implementation and maintenance of safety policies and programs.
Training and Communication:
· Assist in developing and delivering safety training sessions for employees, including new hire orientations and refresher courses.
· Act as a safety advocate, providing clear guidance and support to team members on proper safety practices.
· Help develop safety communications, such as posters, newsletters, and alerts.
Incident Reporting and Investigation:
· Assist in investigating incidents, accidents, and near misses, documenting findings and corrective actions.
· Maintain accurate and thorough records of incidents and follow-up activities.
Compliance and Documentation:
· Ensure compliance with OSHA and other safety regulations by maintaining up-to-date records and documentation.
· Assist in preparing for internal and external safety audits.
· Monitor safety equipment and ensure it is properly maintained and available.
Emergency Preparedness:
· Support emergency drills and training sessions, including fire, evacuation, and spill response scenarios.
· Monitor emergency equipment, such as fire extinguishers and first aid kits, to ensure they are in working order.
Collaboration and Teamwork:
· Work closely with the EHS Manager and other team members to ensure safety goals are met.
Partner with production teams to identify potential risks and promote proactive safety measures.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
· High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, or related field preferred.

· 2+ years of experience in a safety-related role, ideally in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Certifications:
· Preferred: OSHA 10/30 certification or equivalent.
· First Aid/CPR/AED certification is a plus.
Skills and Abilities:
· Strong understanding of OSHA regulations and workplace safety standards.
· Excellent observation skills and attention to detail.
· Clear and effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
· Ability to use safety equipment, tools, and software for inspections and recordkeeping.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
