We are experiencing rapid growth and are seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our team and be an essential part of our executive team. The ideal candidate will be based in Saint Louis, Missouri.
Job Summary
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a hands-on executive who will be responsible for managing the financial actions of the company. This includes tracking cash flow and financial planning as well as analyzing the company's financial strengths and weaknesses and proposing corrective actions. The CFO will work closely with the CEO and other executive team members to establish and implement financial goals and strategies. This is a distributed company, so requires excellent communication and leadership skills to manage a dispersed team effectively.
What You Will Be Doing
Strategic Financial Management:
- Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the company's business goals and objectives.
- Provide strategic recommendations to the CEO and executive team based on financial analysis and projections.
- Oversee financial forecasting, budgeting, and financial reporting to ensure the company’s financial health and growth.
- Ensuring healthy cash reserves and flow of money through the business.
Capital Allocation:
- Understanding current capital funding sources and cash availability.
- Assigning capital based on strategic planning and budgetary priorities.
- Managing investor/venture capital expectations.
KPI Management:
- Developing SaaS-similar KPIs.
- Aligning management on KPIs at a departmental level.
- Reporting on and interpreting KPIs to support data-driven decision making
Financial Planning and Analysis:
- Lead the annual budgeting process and monitor actual performance against budget.
- Conduct financial analysis and modeling to support business decisions and strategic initiatives.
- Prepare and present accurate and timely financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual statements.
Operational Finance:
- Oversee and hands-on manage all aspects of financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and tax compliance.
- Optimize the company’s financial performance and strategic position through effective management of cash flow and working capital.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards.
Risk Management:
- Identify and manage financial risks, including market, credit, and operational risks.
- Develop and implement risk management policies and procedures to safeguard company assets.
Team Leadership:
- Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with other departments to support overall business objectives and initiatives.
Investor Relations:
- Support the CEO in managing relationships with investors, lenders, and other financial stakeholders.
- Prepare and present financial information to the board of directors.
Requirements
What You Need for this Position
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
- Proven experience as a CFO or in a senior financial leadership role.
- Strong understanding of corporate finance, financial planning, and risk management.
- Experience with financial forecasting, budgeting, and financial analysis.
- Proficient in financial software and tools.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a remote environment and manage a dispersed team.
