About the Mississippi Charter Schools Association
The Mississippi Charter Schools Association (MCSA) is a membership organization and the statewide advocacy voice for Mississippi’s 10 public charter schools serving approximately 3500 students across the state. Established in 2013, the mission of the Mississippi Charter Schools Association is to equip all Mississippi charter schools for success at every phase of operation (planning, start-up, and fully operational schools)by providing sector-determined professional development, technical support, and advocacy support services. Our vision is that Mississippi will create and maintain a landscape of high-performing schools that offer a variety of school models that support excellent teaching, excellent parent/school relationships, whole-child and whole-family supports, and an emotionally safe environment for students, parents, and educators.
ABOUT THE PROGRAM DIRECTOR ROLE:
The Program Director reports directly to the Executive Director and is responsible for the direction and oversight of professional development and operational support for the 10 public charter schools within the state of Mississippi. This includes but is not limited to providing and creating tools and resources to support the growth, development and sustainability of Mississippi’s 10 public charter schools.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
Charter Member Management
- Oversee the management of membership services for a growing member base, currently consisting of 10 member charter schools with plans to increase to 11 by Fall 2025.
- Conduct routine check-ins with charter operators to assess satisfaction, address concerns, and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Manage relationships with contracted service providers to ensure the delivery of high-quality membership services.
- Identify and evaluate potential service providers to meet the evolving needs of the membership base.
Project Management
- Collaborate with the internal team, Executive Director and Communication Director, and external partners to plan and execute MCSA association/events and activities that add value to the membership experience.
- Manage grant applications and funding allocations to support membership services and initiatives. Including data and evaluation
- Manage professional development contracts in support of charter member organizations.
- Research and analyze best practices in membership services management to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement for public charter schools.
- Monitor industry trends and benchmark against peer organizations to ensure competitiveness and relevance of membership offerings and services.
- Advise the Executive Director on opportunities related to emerging trends, process optimization, policy improvements, and strategic partnerships in support of member organizations.
- Develop and maintain membership databases and communication channels to facilitate engagement and information sharing.
- Prepare reports and presentations on membership service metrics, trends, and outcomes for internal and external stakeholders including but not limited to MCSA’s Board of Directors, lobbyist and overall public.

Job Qualifications
- 5-8 years relevant experience managing projects and/or supporting schools at an administrative level
- Deep understanding of the characteristics of high-quality charter schools and a commitment to developing high-quality charter schools, local educational context preferred
- Track record of successfully managing/supporting multiple projects simultaneously.
- Work experience in K-12 education preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of the schools in Mississippi and a familiarity with the state’s diverse demographics, community characteristics (e.g.; rural, suburban, urban), state and local educational climate, policy, and the educational needs of specific communities.
- Experience working with charter schools is strongly preferred.

Compensation & Benefits
The salary range for this role is $95K to $115K, commensurate with experience.

Work Environment: Hybrid working environment will require in-office days and remote work days. Work hours will support charter member organizations' needs.
