Pay: $27.00- $30.00 per hour

Job Purpose: You coordinate the learning paths and provide direct training and teaching to staff and trainees at all levels of technical skills to become an Animal Humane Society Clinic Technician. You provide for the care, evaluation, examination, treatment, and support of animals.  You ensure continuous improvement and successful outcomes.

Location: Primarily Golden Valley and St. Paul, MN

Schedule: Full-time; 40 hours per week; primarily Monday through Friday between the hours of 7:00 AM - 5 PM

  • Very occasional weekends or evenings may be needed

What you will be doing:

Strategy — Understand and commit to the requirement of excellence, continuous improvement, and department and organizational goals.

Relationship Building – Build and maintain relationships with internal and external partners.

Training — Provide training to staff and trainees on treatments, monitoring of animals, surgery, administering medications and controlled substances.

Communication — Listen, pay attention, and be a responsible steward of information.

Support — Work to improve training program based on results.

Culture — Foster an open and inclusive work environment by modeling AHS’s behaviors and values, consistent with the vision and mission of the organization. Champion a culture of safety and promote meaningful volunteer engagement.

Requirements

Schedule - Regular, predictable attendance, punctuality and availability to work during operational hours as defined by leadership.

Experience — Minimum of 3 years of experience using the skills of a veterinary technician.  1 years’ experience in a high-volume shelter or clinic setting. Willingness to lead.

Adaptability — Ability to work in a professional and positive manner, balancing shifting priorities to meet the needs of the organization.

Communication — Strong interpersonal and communications skills.

Physical & Emotional Capabilities — Must be able to handle the physical and emotional aspect of work an animal welfare environment, including the use of euthanasia. Must have a high level of resiliency.

Transportation — Dependable transportation is required.
