Pay: $53,000-58,000 annually, depending upon experience

Schedule/Location:

  • Full Time, ~40 hours/week
  • Remote capabilities: This is a hybrid role. The person in this position will have the opportunity to work remotely for part of their time. Access to reliable internet, ability to prioritize work independently, and foster relationships while working in a hybrid (remote and in-person) environment required. Must live in or have easy access to the Minneapolis/St. Paul area and be available for frequent face-to-face interactions in Minneapolis/St. Paul and greater Minnesota regions. This role's main office is our Golden Valley, MN location.

Job Purpose:  You are a strategic, creative and collaborative professional with excellent writing skills and an understanding of processes. You are responsible for implementing stewardship strategies for unmanaged donors as part of a larger annual giving plan designed to achieve financial and donor retention goals.

What you will be doing:

Strategy – Research and implement innovations in donor engagement and stewardship. Be a champion for and plan, coordinate and produce strategies towards robust and segmented donor stewardship. You are a partner in creating cohesive annual giving strategies. Understand and commit to the requirement of excellence, continuous improvement, and department and organizational goals.

Collaboration – Oversee creation and accurate completion of donor stewardship mailings. Serve as Annual Giving team lead on stewardship event planning. Be a voice in the writing and editing of donor communications.

Relationship Building – Partner with teams across the organization to build a strong understanding of AHS programs, initiatives, and campaigns.

Projects – Assist with project management and vendor relationships related to annual giving work. Stay current with best practices and industry standards. Advocate for and facilitate great donor experiences. Be an ambassador and a champion for AHS.

Communication – Foster an environment of open communication and approachability. Convey information in a clear, complete, and timely manner, consistent with brand standards and organizational messaging. Listen, pay attention, and be a responsible steward of information.

Analysis – Analyze and report on the performance of strategies. Monitor trends and needs. Leverage data and insights to inform future work.

Culture – Foster an open and inclusive work environment by modeling AHS’s behaviors and values, consistent with the vision and mission of the organization. Champion a culture of safety and promote meaningful volunteer engagement.

Requirements

What we are looking for:

Experience – 2+ years of annual giving and fundraising experience.

Computer Skills – Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Communication – Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, including the ability to partner collaboratively with external and internal customers and departments.

Adaptability – Ability to work in a professional and positive manner with high attention to detail in a variety of situations.

Emotional Capabilities – Must be able to handle the emotional aspect of work in an animal shelter environment, including the use of humane euthanasia.

Schedule – Regular, predictable attendance, punctuality, and availability to work during administrative operations hours as defined by management with flexibility to work an occasional evening or weekend shift.
