About the Role
We are looking for a Revenue Accountant to join our Global Revenue Team. This individual will be primarily working on accounting for direct and indirect customer revenue recognition for sales across each of the Company’s offerings. We are looking for a motivated individual who will be able to contribute to our team's overall mission of providing reliable financial information and exceptional operations in alignment with Calabrio's strategic goals while fostering a culture of inclusion. By providing accurate financial reporting, business guidance, and streamlined processes, this individual will help support the company's ability to sustainably increase profitability. In addition, the Revenue Accountant will leverage their financial and process acumen to support certain business functions with project coordination, process documentation, financial analysis and accommodating ad-hoc user requests.
About The Team
Calabrio’s Global Revenue Team is responsible for the accuracy for millions of dollars of revenue generated across the world for United States Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP) and local statutory reporting via direct and indirect transactions. From SaaS to perpetual to service offerings, our team is responsible for ensuring that each piece of the transaction is properly recorded within the financial statements. As Calabrio expands its offerings, we collaborate closely with our business development and product teams to ensure that our accounting systems are ready to accommodate every new product offering and business initiative. This dynamic and fast-paced environment is fueled by a remarkable team of motivated individuals who share a passion for financial accuracy and excellence. We are seeking a talented individual to join our team. The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator, an analytical thinker with the ability to analyze large data sets, juggle multiple deliverables simultaneously while meeting deadlines, and be driven by curiosity.
Responsibilities
Financial Reporting Month-End Close
- Compile and analyze financial information to prepare journal entries, and document business processes.
- Analyze monthly revenue by stream to ensure completeness of revenue.
- Perform reconciliations for unbilled accruals, deferred revenue, and accounts receivable.
Reporting Operations
- Assist with preparing revenue reporting package, including revenue-related flux comments, revenue deep dive, and revenue-related disclosures.
- Build processes and procedures to account for revenue and contra-revenue in accordance with GAAP.
- Support decision making and resolution of revenue-related accounting issues.
- Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements and automation to improve reporting efficiency and accuracy.
Other Responsibilities
- Collaborate with various teams to provide guidance on the impact of contractual arrangements and business decisions to ensure data readiness for month-end accounting.
- Support US GAAP audits.
- Assist with annual budgeting and monthly forecasting processes.
- Support system upgrades and implementations.
- Assist on cross functional projects as needed.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- BA/BS degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent.
- 2+ years total accounting experience.
- Knowledge of US GAAP and internal control best practices.
- Eager to take on new tasks and projects.
- Ability to thrive in change and ambiguity.
- Strong written, oral communication, analytical and interpersonal skills.
- Solid leadership, analytical and problem-solving skills and good business acumen.
- Ability to take initiative, work independently and achieve success with minimal supervision.
- Exceptional documentation skills with the ability to be clear and concise.
- Ability to successfully manage multiple tasks concurrently.
- Intermediate to advanced experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Preferred Qualifications
- Audit experience, Big 4 preferred.
- CPA or equivalent preferred.
- Experience with NetSuite and Salesforce.
- Experience with BI tools like PowerBI, Tableau, and Mode a plus.
