Full Job Description

The Quality Assurance Technician - 1st Shift plays a crucial role in ensuring that the quality of products meets company standards and customer expectations. This position involves proactive engagement with production teams, conducting inspections, and maintaining rigorous quality control processes.

  • Verify that product quality is maintained and that quality systems are adhered to across all manufacturing processes.
  • Perform inspections of production processes for assemblies and sub-assemblies during the day shift (7a-3:30p); overtime may be required.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, utilizing various testing and measuring instruments.
  • Document and report all defects, promptly submitting findings to production supervisors.
  • Collaborate with production supervisors and personnel to address any specification or drawing issues.
  • Interface courteously with customer inspection personnel.
  • Conduct inspections on the coach and ensure thorough completion of inspection reports.
  • Facilitate the release and sale process of the coach, ensuring compliance with ISO 9001 Quality Assurance procedures.
  • Follow up on vendor nonconformance issues and ensure audits and first article inspections are completed.
  • Engage in the entire quality process, from identification of issues to corrective actions and follow-up auditing.
  • Assist in training other technicians in QA processes and maintain compliance with 5S requirements.
  • Complete special assignments as required and perform receiving inspections and warehouse audits.
  • Adapt to various tasks as needed, all while operating with minimal supervision.

Requirements

  • Ability to read blueprints and use precision testing and measuring instruments.
  • Prior inspection experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Understanding and application of quality systems to drive improvements.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills for effective team collaboration.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize workload effectively.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, especially Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Capability to perform duties independently with minimal supervision.
  • Experience with Oracle database systems is considered an asset.
