Horizon Roofing is looking for an individual to join our growing company as a Production Superintendent in our Commercial Roofing Department. This employee is responsible for the management and coordination of on-site construction activities to ensure the highest quality control, safety practices, scheduling, and budgeting are met. Strong leadership and negotiation skills are a must in this position as you will be working with multiple clients, material suppliers, and employees at the same time. This employee must have the ability to perform daily tasks with a high level of attention to detail and maintain deadlines.

Requirements

WHO IS THIS POSITION FOR

Essentially, this position if for someone who has a background in commercial roofing and/or construction is an excellent communicator and possesses the skills of a strong leader.

This position requires above-average attention to detail, concern for the exact correctness of work, and a strong commitment to completing tasks on time and within budget. The person in this position will take their work seriously, work diligently to ensure our customers are happy and tackle problems head-on.

For the Production Superintendent position, knowledge of roofing systems and/or prior construction experience is required. OSHA 10 and/or 30 is preferred, but not required. Additionally, this candidate will have strong language, mathematical, reasoning, and computer skills.


On-Site Requirements:

  • Presents and maintains a professional appearance and demeanor throughout daily interactions with owners, customers, inspectors, manufacturers, and Horizon Roofing personnel.
  • Plans and directs production activities and establishes production priorities for products to maintain effective operations and cost factors.
  • Coordinates production activities with procurement, maintenance, and quality control to obtain optimum production and utilization as it relates to human resources, machines, and equipment.
  • Reviews and analyzes production, quality control, maintenance, and operational reports to determine causes of nonconformity with product specifications and operating or production problems.
  • Attends pre-construction meetings to ensure all details are in place before the project begins.
  • Promotes job site safety, encourages safe work practices, documents, and rectifies job site hazards immediately.
  • Performs safety audits regularly to ensure all company employees and subcontractors are adhering to Horizon Roofing safety policies and reports infractions or risks to Human Resources and Senior Leadership immediately.
  • Reports requested changes made by owner or others to Project Manager.
  • Manages warehouse and inventory control to ensure the area is clean and the proper materials are always on hand.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Directly Supervise 30+ employees in the Commercial Roofing Department and carry out supervisory roles and responsibilities in accordance with Horizon Roofing policies.


Responsibilities include:

  • Participating in the hiring process including interviewing, hiring and training when necessary
  • Daily dispatch and interaction with roofing crews
  • Employee mentoring, coaching and training
  • Appraise performance and ensure Horizon’s standards for quality are being met
  • Reward and discipline employees when necessary; conduct annual employee reviews
  • Address complaints and resolve problems promptly

Office/Documentation:

  • Develop and implement operating processes designed to eliminate problems and improve product quality
  • Document all project activities relating to planning, scheduling and quality of work
  • Document any and all situations that could lead to risks, constraints, or problems with work and expected outcomes.
  • Maintain daily logs and collect daily activity from project Foreman
  • Create and revise production schedules to avoid human resources and equipment conflicts
  • Compile, store and retrieve production data
  • Verify Horizon Roofing labor hours and submit to Human Resources weekly.
  • Validate and approve all invoices relating to their specific jobs.

Pre-Employment Screening: Physical, Drug Screening, and Background check required. Must have a valid driver’s license.
