As an Energy & Utilities Procurement Consultant, you will be a part of a fast-paced environment helping clients and internal business partners solve complex problems and deliver exceptional results. From day one, you will work side by side with our elite team and clients to apply and develop your critical thinking, analytical, interpersonal, and management skills.
This role will primarily work with our Energy & Utility clients across a portfolio of major generation, transmission and distribution capital projects.
The Procurement Consultant will need to be an expert in sourcing, negotiating, and contracting using various construction delivery models which drive to the lowest total cost of ownership. The Procurement Consultant will partner with client stakeholders to drive, track, and monitor all the activities and deliverables for timely and accurate contract execution of a $350M contract over the course of three years. This role is initially slated to be a 12 month contract.
Key Responsibilities:
- Creates and maintains comprehensive project documentation, plans, and reports.
- Establishes and maintains systems for archiving, tracking, and updating project materials.
- Reinforces quality procedures and work with stakeholders to ensure compliance for projects and client deliverables.
- Prepares and handles all contractual correspondence and other legal documents and ensure proper document control.
- Reviews and amends contracts as needed and ensure changes or amendments are properly documented.
- Sets up internal contract kickoff calls, tracks that all project initiation requirements are met, and attend project reviews as necessary.
- Acts as liaison with internal & external stakeholders to support contract requirements.
- Provides clients with status of contracts execution process and confirms progress and status.
- Creates reporting tools for senior management to have full visibility on contract execution progress.
- Manage a high volume of assigned project workload in a timely, accurate, and consistent manner

Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Solid understanding of legal terminology relevant to contract law and the specific regulations of the utilities industry.
- Proven experience in contract administration/management or a similar role, ideally within the utilities industry and electrical transmission.
- Professional certifications such as Certified Commercial Contracts Manager (CCCM) or Certified Professional Contracts Manager (CPCM) preferred
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage and influence stakeholders at all levels
- Comfort handling ambiguity and managing multiple assignments
- Strong analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills
- Positive, collaborative attitude with a willingness to do what it takes to deliver excellent work product and customer experiences
- High level of proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite
- Ability to commute to various clients in Minneapolis metropolitan area
