RADIAS Health is hiring full-time (32 - 40 hours per week) Mental Health Practitioners to provide mental health services at our Intensive Residential Treatment Services (IRTS) programs. The staff will provide recovery-oriented, evidence-based treatment and rehabilitative services for 12-16 adults struggling with acute symptoms of mental illness and/or co-occurring substance use disorders.
The Mental Health Practitioner provides professional, quality program services to the clients served at RADIAS Health IRTS and Crisis facilities and works with other members of the team to assist clients in obtaining and maintaining an optimum quality of life consistent with client needs and preferences. The work uses evidence-based practices adapted for the agency and the client's specific needs. This position functions as an integral part of a treatment team and is responsible for providing direct service to the clients as well as assisting the Therapists in developing treatment plans. The Mental Health Practitioner is also responsible for teaching and developing independent living skills, crisis intervention and de-escalation, and carrying out the interventions from the treatment plan.
Hours Available:
- Community Foundations IRTS (Maplewood): Thursday - Sunday 4 pm - 12 am OR Friday - Monday 4 pm - 12 am
- ReEntry House IRTS (Minneapolis): Sunday - Thursday 4 pm - 12 am, 40 hours per week
- ReEntry House Crisis (Minneapolis): Wednesday - Saturday 12 am - 8 am, 32 hours per week
This role operates fully onsite at our IRTS and Crisis facility.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Teach and develop independent living skills (relaxation, conversation skills, housekeeping, budgeting, etc.
- Responsible for providing staff coverage and ensuring the security of the facility and general supervision of the residents.
- Complete all paperwork, reports, and charting contemporaneously and in an organized manner.
- Co-facilitate or facilitate psychoeducational groups or other programming at the facility.
- Upon successful completion of required medication test, administer medications under the supervision of the facility’s nurse.
- Conduct monthly house meetings for residents in collaboration with Certified Peer Specialist.
- Assist the Mental Health Therapists in developing treatment plans.
- Assist in the orientation of new admissions to residential care.
- Identify individuals prone to having behavior emergencies and assist the therapist in developing additional programming appropriate for their needs.
- Help to defuse and de-escalate any potential behavior emergencies and assists in developing additional programming appropriate for the client’s needs.
Requirements
Candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Psychology or Social Work plus 2,000 hours work experience providing services to adults diagnosed with a serious mental illness
-OR-
No college degree and 4,000 hours supervised work experience in the delivery of services to adults or children with mental illness.
