Mechanical Assembler

The Position:

Electrical and mechanical assembly of packaging machines and their subsequent tools.  Facilitating effective collaboration with successful information flow throughout each project while supporting the organization and build-up of machine assembly at US plant.

 Job Duties:

  • Assembly of packaging machines and format tools at the Somic facility based on the technical documents provided.
  • Unloading of truck or sea freight container
  • Uncrate and unpack machine and all parts.
  • Staging of parts
  • Helping on endurance runs
  • Put together format tool carts and align format tools according to drawings.
  • Assembly and levelling of machines and conveyors
  • Running and connection of electrical wires and cables
  • Running and connection of pneumatic hoses
  • Electrical and pneumatic installation subassemblies and components (according to drawings)
  • Installation of subassemblies and components (according to drawings)
  • Ensuring high quality standards
  • Optimizing installation procedures
  • Making sure that assignments are performed correctly and on time.
  • Ensuring machine safety and quality gate requirements are being met.
  • Ensuring complete documentation of the assembly process
  • Responsibility for the execution of the machine assembly together with the Lead Assembly Technician and Assembly Operations Manager at the US plant

Requirements

  • Industrial, electrical, and mechanical experience or similar technical training
  • Experience working with technical documents and drawings.
  • Experience with machine installation is highly desirable.
  • Experience in working with pneumatic wiring desirable.
  • Capable to work with 2D and 3D drawings.
  • Must be reliable and accurate.
  • Capable to work with electrical drawings.
  • Forklift experience preferred.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work in a team.
  • Ability to work independently and be solution oriented.
  • Strong commitment to high quality standards
  • Must be able to read, speak and write in English.
