Job Summary of the Industrial Engineer: Identify issues regarding product flow and apply lean principles to alleviate process bottlenecks, minimize waste, and reduce work-in-progress (WIP). Oversee and manage Industrial Engineering (IE) operators and technicians, providing clear direction, fostering skill development, and enhancing team performance to support continuous improvement efforts.
Responsibilities of the Industrial Engineer:
• Lead and implement site lean activities such as 5S, standard work, visual management, pace to takt, value stream mapping, Kaizen, and 8D to drive out waste and improve productivity.
• Lead the development of facility Leads, Supervisors, and Managers by serving as a proactive change agent who drives a culture of continuous improvement (CI) and operational excellence
• Lead and track continuous improvement activities through all functional areas including both manufacturing and office.
• Leads standardization and optimization of manufacturing processes, sequences, layouts, and flow.
• Develop detailed plans, drive project performance, and ensure timely completion of improvement projects and savings goals
• Develops, designs, and plans equipment and machine layouts, workflow, and safety precautions to maximize utilization of plant and manufacturing facilities.
• Key owner and stakeholder of equipment capital expenditures, including design, vendor selection, procurement, and implementation
• Collaborate with the Operations Manager and site Leadership team to develop continuous Improvement roadmap driving best-in-class performance
• Lead creation and enhancement of capacity modeling, production planning tools, and time standards.
Requirements
Qualifications of Industrial Engineer:
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering
• 5+ years of Industrial Engineering experience.
• Root cause analysis, practical problem-solving skills, and Industrial Services Data collection experience.
• Knowledge of LEAN principles
• Demonstrated ability to apply throughput improvement processes
• Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and written/oral communication skills
• Self-motivated with the ability to focus on critical tasks.
