Pay: $60,000-70,000 annually, depending upon experience

Schedule/Location:

  • Full Time, ~40 hours/week
  • This is a hybrid role. The person in this position will have the opportunity to work remotely for part of their time. Frequency of on-site work subject to change as business needs dictate. Access to reliable internet, ability to prioritize work independently, and foster relationships while working in a hybrid (remote and in-person) environment required. Must live in or have easy access to the Minneapolis/St. Paul area and be available for frequent face-to-face interactions in Minneapolis/St. Paul and greater Minnesota regions. This role's main office is our Golden Valley, MN location.

Job Purpose:   You are an extroverted and communicative team member who is responsible for coordinating, nurturing and growing an assigned portfolio of gift donors. You manage all elements of qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of assigned donors through prospect strategy and tailored outreach to increase donor retention and gift commitment.

What you will be doing:

Strategy — Develop, propose, and implement a comprehensive action plan to qualify, cultivate, and solicit core donors for AHS.

Continuous Improvement — Create and execute strategy to move donors through the philanthropy pipeline.

Relationship Building Make meaningful contact with donors and prospects to nurture donor loyalty and foster personal relationships.

Process — Manage portfolio of donor prospects, sustaining gifts, and identify constituents for annual operating and capital campaign support.

Reporting - Responsible for tracking donor prospects and documenting their qualification, cultivation, solicitation, stewardship activities.

Support — Aid in the development and execution of strategy, cultivation, and stewardship activities. Work collaboratively on communication materials for prospects. Reinforce the prospect relationship continuum.

Culture — Foster an open and inclusive work environment by modeling AHS’s behaviors and values, consistent with the vision and mission of the organization. Champion a culture of safety and promote meaningful volunteer engagement.

Requirements

What we are looking for:

Experience — Minimum of 1-2 years philanthropy experience, with demonstrated success working in an innovative team environment and demonstrated gift growth.

Computer Skills — Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office. Database and CRM experience preferred.

Schedule — Regular, predictable attendance, punctuality, and availability to work during administrative operations hours as defined by management with flexibility to work an occasional evening or weekend shift.

Adaptability — Ability to work in a professional and positive manner with high attention to detail in a variety of situations.

Communication — Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, must have ability to work independently, as a member of the team, and collaboratively with external donors and internal partners.

Physical & Emotional Capabilities — Must be able to handle the physical and emotional aspect of work in an animal shelter environment, including the use of euthanasia.
