As an Energy & Utilities Senior Project Controls (Cost), you will be a part of a fast-paced environment helping clients and internal business partners solve complex problems and deliver exceptional results. This role will primarily work with our Energy & Utility clients across a portfolio of major generation, transmission and distribution capital projects.
The Senior Project Controls (Cost) is accountable for the development, management, update, and analysis of project schedules and costs for a large portfolio of capital projects.
This is a contract position for a long-term multi-year engagement.
Key Responsibilities may include:
- Provides training for project team regarding project controls and its function within the project management process. Provides direction to less experienced project controls team members to plan and schedule assigned projects.
- Assists Project Managers and other team members in preparing, developing, and analyzing project related reports, schedules, and cost analysis and Cost Activity reports. Completes initial setup of large projects for all aspects of project controls including work breakdown structure, accounting, estimating, and reporting. Works closely with the Central Program Office and communicates and establishes the Project Controls function within the project scope.
- Maintains a thorough, current knowledge of new and innovative techniques in the project planning, scheduling, and cost estimating fields. Promotes standard project practices throughout the business area.
- Provides ongoing support for the optimal performance of the online project management system. Demonstrates super user capabilities with the online project management system.
- Provides detailed tracking and reporting of project control metrics including Earned Value, Cost Performance Index, Schedule Performance Index, project costs to date, cost variance, schedule variance, resource allocation and utilization, etc. Performs resource leveling analyses as required.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience required
- Minimum 7 years of experience
- Strong communication, and interpersonal skills
- Proven experience in project controls for complex and/or capital projects
- Experience with project management software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project) preferred
- Experience with project controls methodologies (EVM) and industry best practices preferred
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- High level of proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite
- Positive, collaborative attitude with a willingness to do what it takes to deliver excellent work product and customer experiences
