Full Job Description

New Flyer is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Cell Leader to join our team. As North America's heavy-duty transit bus leader, New Flyer is committed to providing advanced and sustainable transportation solutions. As a Cell Leader, you will be responsible for leading a team of production workers in a specific manufacturing cell. You will oversee the daily operations, including meeting production targets, ensuring quality standards, and promoting a safe work environment. Your strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and ability to motivate and engage your team will be essential in driving success and continuous improvement. This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity to contribute to the growth and success of our company.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise a team of production workers in a specific manufacturing cell.
  • Ensure that production targets are met and quality standards are upheld.
  • Coordinate and prioritize daily work assignments to maximize efficiency and productivity.
  • Train and develop team members to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Engage and motivate the team to achieve continuous improvement goals.
  • Promote and enforce safety standards and practices.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to optimize production and reduce waste.
  • Collaborate with other departments to resolve issues and improve cross-functional communication.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports related to production and performance metrics.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulations.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a leadership role, preferably in a manufacturing or automotive environment.
  • Strong knowledge of production processes and quality standards.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with team members and other departments.
  • Demonstrated leadership and coaching skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.
  • Flexibility to work different shifts as needed.
