Bedford Summer Internship Program

HUMAN RESOURCE INTERN

This position will assist with daily HR functions and projects. No day will be the same as you learn and gain experience with all functions of Human Resources.  

•       Provide exceptional service while assisting with employee needs 
•       Work on and complete projects within the department 
•       Perform an audit on personnel files 
•       Assist in planning and working employee engagement events 
•       Shadow HR staff when available  
•       Other duties as assigned 

GRAPHIC DESIGN INTERN

This position will assist the Graphics Department at Bedford by creating promotional marketing materials, taking and editing product photography, working with design software, and gaining hands-on creative experience with graphic design. This is a part time opportunity. 

•        Using Bedford’s professional camera for product photography
•       Designing social media graphics
•       Compile company clothing catalog
•     Branded clothing designs
•     Related photos
•        Create company-wide communication graphics and promotional marketing materials
•       Work on editing the company newsletter/Tieline
•        Other duties as requested

MACHINING INTERN

 This position will assist the Machine shop personnel with producing parts.

•         Support machine shop to help achieve Bedford’s Key Goals
•         Plans machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications
•         Operates machine tools such as lathes, milling machines and grinders to produce parts
•         Review electronic or written blueprints or specifications for a job
•         Maintains specifications by taking measurements with proper measuring devices
•         Troubleshoot equipment
•         Maintains equipment by completing preventative maintenance
•         Documents actions by completing production and quality logs
•         Remove and process 3D print parts
•         Other duties as assigned

Requirements

HUMAN RESOURCES INTERN

•       Bachelor’s degree candidate in HR/Business/Management field preferred  
•       Works effectively across a variety of communication channels: in-person, phone, email, live-chat, video conference 
•      Must be able to uphold strict confidentiality  
•      Exceptional interpersonal skills – strong written and verbal communication skills 
•       Microsoft Office computer skills 
•      Ability to work independently as well as on a team 
•       Bilingual in English/Spanish not required; but is considered a plus 
•       Organizational skills 
•      Works in an office environment
•       Attend occasional weekend After Hours Events
•      Monday-Friday

GRAPHIC DESIGN INTERN

•        Bachelor’s Degree candidate in Graphics/Design field
•       Must provide portfolio of design work
•       Experience in: Adobe Creative Suite, Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign
•        Ability to independently edit photos in Photoshop
•        Photography skills preferred
•       Microsoft Office computer skills
•       Ability to work independently as well as on a team
•       Exceptional interpersonal skills – strong written and verbal communication skills
•       Organizational skills
• Works effectively across a variety of communication channels: in-person, phone, email, messaging apps
•       Works in an office and production environment
•      Part-time Monday-Friday

MACHINING INTERN

•       Pursuing a degree/certification in Machining
•       Ability to work both independently and with a team on projects
•      Intermediate math skills
•     Attention to detail
•      Ability to problem solve and use resources
•     Works in an office and production environment
•      Must be able to lift at least 40lbs
•      Monday-Friday
