Work on high-quality audits and reviews of financial statements through all stages of an engagement, including planning and fieldwork, while working in a variety of industries with publicly traded and privately owned clients. Serve as a trusted advisor for clients while collaborating on the impact of the latest accounting standards, as well as a resource and mentor for other audit team members.
- Review and possibly oversee all phases of compilations, reviews, and audits of financial statements
- Perform more complex attestation services, including, but not limited to: accrued liabilities, investments, and inventory
- Assist the client with complex accounting transactions and manage internal teams for successful completion
- Review the workpapers for completeness and accuracy
- Delegate and oversee the initial preparation and set-up of client files and engagement letters
- Develop a work plan and timeline for the engagement and delegate work accordingly
- Review sample sizes and transactions to be tested
- Work effectively within given budgetary parameters
- Prepare and review client financial statements and related documents
- Research and prepare memos on technical issues
- Develop and deliver client communications
- Discuss and explain accounting transactions with clients in a group or one-on-one setting
- Identify potential risks, concerns, or issues regarding the client
- Communicate issues and/or status updates with Manager or Partner (and possibly client) as necessary
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field with 150 credit hours
- 4+ years of progressively challenging Public Accounting experience
- Strong computer skills and proficiency in various accounting and other software, including Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong working knowledge of all areas of the general ledger
- Strong knowledge of financial statement procedures and the ability to distinguish between material and immaterial items
- Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and knowledge of review, compilation, and auditing standards
- Ability to creatively solve problems and analyze client data
