After Market Sales Engineer

The Position:

The After Market Sales Engineer provides technical review and processing of Retrofit & Update (R&U) requests and orders. Excellent written and verbal communication, ensuring exchange of information between several departments, in the US and with our parent company in Germany.

Job Duties:

• Technical feasibility testing, to find the appropriate solutions for customer requests
• Create estimates for parts and cost of requests for modifications, retrofits and upgrades based on requirement specifications.
• Receiving customer requests for modifications, retrofits and upgrades.
• Clarification of technical details, if necessary independent technical testing and preparation of requirement specifications.
• Creation, maintenance and extension of the R&U standard catalogue and general costing templates.
• Preparing quotations, conducting price negotiations and tracking orders as well as maintaining data in the various systems.
• Collaboration with Sales, Engineering and customers.
• Oversee the request from start to finish, ensuring the installation is completed.
• Ensuring customer satisfaction.

Requirements

Completed training or technician in the field of mechatronics with several years of professional experience or comparable qualifications.

• A high level of technical understanding and ability for engineering collaboration.
• Knowledge of the Somic product portfolio and the functioning of the machines and modules.
• Sound knowledge of the CAD program and heavy Solid Works.
• Team player with accuracy, quick responses, proactive and a high degree of flexibility.
• Strong communication skills both verbally and written with customers.
• Self-organized, structured, and reliable way of working.
• This position requires the individual to work on-site at company HQ in Inver Grove Heights, MN 5 days a week.
• Possibility of traveling domestically to customer sites and abroad.
• Fluent English skills, both spoken and written.
