Overview

Veritas Prep Summer Academy is seeking motivated and dedicated Veritas Prep High School students to join our team as Student Interns. This internship provides a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in an educational setting while supporting middle school students in Math and English Language Arts (ELA). Interns will work under the guidance of the Summer School Program Manager to help facilitate a dynamic and engaging summer learning environment.

Responsibilities

  • Academic Support:
    • Assist middle school students with Math and ELA coursework.
    • Provide one-on-one or small group tutoring sessions to reinforce key concepts.
    • Help students develop effective study habits and organizational skills.
  • Classroom Assistance:
    • Support teachers in preparing and delivering instructional materials.
    • Monitor and assist with classroom activities and student projects.
    • Supervise students during classroom transitions and breaks.
  • Program Development:
    • Contribute to the planning and execution of educational activities and events.
    • Provide feedback on program activities to the Summer School Program Manager.
    • Assist in the creation and maintenance of a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Administrative Tasks:
    • Help with record-keeping and documentation of student progress.
    • Prepare materials and resources for instructional use.
    • Perform other duties as assigned by the Summer School Program Manager.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Enrollment: Must be a current Veritas Prep High School student.
  • Academic Standing: Good academic standing, particularly in Math and ELA.
  • Preferred Pathway: Preference given to students in the Education College Pathway.
  • Skills:
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work collaboratively with peers and educators.
    • Patience and enthusiasm for working with younger students.
    • Organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Availability: Must be available for the entire summer school program from July 8th to July 26th.
