Summer Academy Special Education Teacher-Extended School Year (23-24)

Veritas is looking for a Special Education Teacher to plan and deliver a three week-long academic experience for students with extended school year to deliver services to students in accordance with their IEP goals and objectives.

The teacher would support students with special education services, collaborating with Summer Academy Teachers to plan and deliver grade-level curriculum in both math and ELA, monitor student progress, and report outcomes to the Summer Academy director and families. The goal of the week is for more students to get targeted academic support to help them meet grade level standards as we support our students to recover from learning loss during the pandemic. 

Teacher responsibilities include: 

• Plan for grade level acceleration and remediation on key standards as indicated by school leaders as well as activities and interventions to address individual student goals and objectives. 
• Track daily attendance and strive for 90% or higher attendance each day for your caseload of 5-12 students.
• Monitor and adjust student interventions. 
• Collect and record data on individual student goals and objectives using Ablespace each week. 
• By the end of extended school year, complete IEP progress reports for each student to be added to their special education file and sent home to families. 
• Teach the required number of hours from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. daily, and attend each day, which may include enrichment responsibilities. 
• Lead students in operational parts of the day including arrival, breakfast, lunch, and dismissal.

Stipend Amount: 

• $4,000 for completion of the entire three-week program.
