Full Job Description

The Staff Liaison is responsible for the Nursing Department Schedule, ensuring the facility is appropriately and accurately staffed according to PPD. This position works in conjunction with the Nursing Department Payroll clerk to ensure payroll data is accurate.  The Staff Liaison must be able to maintain confidentiality, possess a professional demeanor and be able to communicate effectively in this fast-paced, challenging position.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in Business Administration or Human Resources preferred. Work experience that is equivalent to a degree will be considered. Solid computer skills including Excel, Word, Outlook, and scheduling software.

Training and Experience: Prior experience in a clinical setting with strong attention to detail and exceptional time management skills.

Job Knowledge: Thorough knowledge of current payroll & labor laws; solid understanding of nursing scheduling to budget/census; general understanding of Workers’ Compensation Injury reporting and OSHA and labor laws.

Job Responsibilities/Duties

Staffing:

  1. Completes & maintains Master Nursing Schedule on scheduling software.
  2. Adjust nursing schedule daily in accordance with census & budget; monitors all overtime and over shift work.
  3. Maintains vacation schedule, obtaining approvals from D N S.
  4. Responsible for completion and upkeep of Daily Assignment Boards.
  5. Replace staff call outs with minimal overtime and agency.
  6. Call Nurse Aide Registry annually for all employees to ensure all staff follows all DPH licensing mandates.
  7. Completes daily reports for time and attendance accuracy.

Human Resources:

  1. Assists employees with general HR information, including but not limited to: FMLA, Benefits, SmartLinx, 401k; direct employees as needed to HR department.
  2. Familiar with general company rules, practices and policies as stated in the employee handbook and/or facility practice.
  3. Assists departments with Workers Compensation.
  4. Updates HR department of staffing needs & changes.
