About the role:

CloudZero is seeking to hire a motivated Accounting Leader to join our Finance & Rev Ops team (reporting directly to our VP of Finance). The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Accounting principles, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance, as well as a proven track record of success in a fast-paced SaaS environment. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in leading day-to-day Accounting operations, establishing and implementing controls, software evaluation and implementation, and driving valuable insights to business leaders that align with our ambitious growth objectives. 

Responsibilities:

  • Execute on monthly, quarterly and annual close activities by ensuring timely, accurate and complete financials in accordance with US GAAP, legal requirements, and the Company’s corporate policies 
  • Proactively identify emerging business and technical risks in a timely manner for action
  • Evaluate internal finance software and identify and implement new offerings as appropriate for a scaling SaaS organization
  • Partner with Sales & Marketing in refining product messaging for Finance prospects
  • Interface with external and internal stakeholders for annual audits, quarterly reviews and internal control audits, including preparation of required schedules and documentation
  • Manage A/P, A/R, and revenue recognition across vendors and customers
  • Establish and maintain accounting documentation in support of legal, regulatory, and audit requirements 
  • Prepare annual tax reports and filings as needed
  • Participate in special projects or ad-hoc analysis in support of the finance department and company initiatives

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience with some portion being in the SaaS industry
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA certification preferred
  • Thorough understanding of GAAP, SOX compliance, and internal control frameworks
  • Strong technical proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite) 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets
  • Experience assessing and implementing financial systems
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and communicate insights effectively
  • Team oriented, collaborative with the ability to thrive/adapt in a dynamic, fast-paced environment to evolving business needs
