Full Job Description

JCC Greater Boston is seeking a highly motivated Specialist, Membership Marketing to join our team of dedicated professionals in creating a vibrant, inclusive, and diverse community. In this role, the Specialist, Membership Marketing, will work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, collaborating with various stakeholders to develop and implement innovative marketing strategies to promote our programs and services. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the organization's social media platforms, creating compelling content, and driving membership acquisition and retention efforts. This is a great opportunity for a creative and detail-oriented individual passionate about marketing and building community.

The starting salary for this position is $47,940 - $58,140. The salary offered will ultimately be determined by the scope of the position, the candidate’s relevant experience, and internal equity.

Responsibilities

Marketing Strategy and Execution:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive marketing plans to drive awareness and participation in JCC programs and services.
  • Create and manage engaging content for the JCC's social media platforms, website, email newsletters, and other digital marketing channels.
  • Collaborate with internal departments and external vendors to design and execute effective marketing campaigns, including print and online advertising, direct mail, and promotional materials.
  • Monitor and analyze marketing performance metrics, making data-driven recommendations to optimize marketing strategies and tactics.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in marketing and digital media, identifying opportunities for innovation and improvement.

 

Membership Acquisition and Retention

  • Plan and execute membership acquisition campaigns, including targeted advertising, email marketing, and member referral programs.
  • Develop strategies and initiatives to enhance member engagement and retention, including personalized communications, member events, and benefits and perks programs.
  • Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify opportunities for membership growth and retention.
  • Collaborate with the Membership Coordinator to ensure a seamless member experience, from initial inquiry to renewal.

 

Brand Management

  • Ensure consistent brand messaging and visual identity across all marketing and communication materials.
  • Develop and maintain brand guidelines and style guides for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Monitor and address any instances of brand inconsistency or improper usage.

Community Engagement

  • Participate in community events, networking opportunities, and other engagement activities to promote the JCC and build relationships with potential members and partners.
  • Collaborate with staff from different departments and programs to support their marketing and outreach efforts.

Requirements

Education and Experience: Requires a Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or a related field, and 2-5 years of experience in marketing, preferably in a nonprofit or community organization setting.

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted at JCC’s discretion to meet minimum criteria.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficiency in social media platforms, content management systems, and email marketing platforms.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a strong attention to detail and ability to craft compelling and concise messaging.
  • Ability to think creatively and strategically, translating ideas into actionable marketing plans.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in graphic design and Adobe Creative Suite is a plus.
  • Experience with website management and SEO is preferred.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Jewish community and its cultural aspects is desirable, but not required.

Physical Requirements:  Able to work well in a busy, dynamic, and sometimes noisy environment involving multiple tasks and priorities. Able to lift and carry objects weighing 30-40 pounds (boxes of supplies, promotional materials, etc.). Able to stand and sit for periods of time.
