Your Compensation: Base salary starting at $111,985+ plus an annual bonus!

About the Opportunity:
First Help Financial, recently voted as a "Great Place to Work" for the third year in a row is seeking a Scrum Master to join our highly skilled and innovative team. First Help Financial is embarking on a new growth phase involving multiple game-changing projects. To fuel such innovation, we are seeking a full-time, permanent Scrum Master who will be responsible for leading and coaching multiple teams of software developers in the adoption and application of Scrum, an agile software development framework. The Scrum Master will also work with product owners, engineering managers, stakeholders, and other teams to ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The Candidate should have excellent leadership and facilitation skills to guide cross-functional teams, including developers, analysts, and business stakeholders. Ability to lead without authority and facilitate productive discussions and decision-making processes. The candidate should also be able to handle a distributed team.
What you will do:
Your responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Act as a knowledge leader and Agile advocate, guiding and coaching our development teams, product owners, and stakeholders in Agile methodologies, particularly Scrum.
- Facilitate Scrum events, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog grooming, and sprint retrospectives, ensuring efficient and effective collaboration among team members.
- Collaborate with product owners, business stakeholders, and technical teams to define project goals, requirements, and priorities, while keeping a strong focus on delivering value to our customers and the institution.
- Identify and address any impediments or roadblocks that hinder the team's progress, working closely with stakeholders to remove barriers and ensure a smooth development process.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement by facilitating retrospectives, capturing feedback, and implementing actionable changes to enhance team performance and product quality.
- Utilize your strong communication skills to ensure clear and transparent communication within the team and with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Monitor and report on project progress, identifying potential risks early and proactively implementing mitigation strategies.
What you bring:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience as a Scrum Master or in a similar role.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to think critically and solve problems.
- Ability to learn new technologies and adapt to change.
- Prior experience as a Scrum Master, preferably in a financial institution or a highly regulated environment.
- Relevant Agile certifications such as Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) or Professional Scrum Master (PSM) are advantageous.
- Extensive understanding of agile methodology, techniques, frameworks (SAFe, Scrum, or Kanban) and agile tools (such as Jira and Confluence)
- Experience in guiding teams through the Agile/Scrum adoption process and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
