Full Job Description
Provides guidance and direction to residents in MHA’s GRIT program in Springfield, which is a 17 bed co-occurring substance use and mental health program for men ages 18 years and up. Also provides oversight to the Good Place Residential program which provides transitional housing to 8 adult men and the Good Place Permanent Housing Supports program which serves 12 individuals living in the community who require support for management of substance use and housing stability. Oversees resident activities to ensure conformance with program policies. Participates in ensuring that the day to day operations of the program milieu support the culture of recovery and is both trauma and gender informed. Responsible for implementing interventions identified in each resident's treatment plan. Supports residents with the completion of activities of daily living including meal preparation, household maintenance, transportation, active engagement in recovery and relapse-prevention planning and supports integration into the community outside of the program environment. Works collaboratively with other members of the leadership teams to address program and resident issue management and support needs.
Essential Functions/Position Responsibilities
1. Supervise and monitor services and treatment to ensure that the physical and emotional well-being, safety, development and quality of care for participants is in compliance with Association, Federal, and State policies, procedures and regulations.
2. Monitor and maintain compliance with program contractual obligations and participate in preparation and process of program re-licensing and accreditation visits.
3. Maintain regular contact, either in person or by telephone, with Program Supervisors; ensure frequent and free exchange of information, advise and assist in problem solving, provide direction, clarify issues and provide other similar guidance in managing participants' activities.
4. Assess training needs of staff, coordinate training and monitor attendance. Participate in the hiring and training of staff.
5. Evaluate, assess and monitor performance of direct reports. Conduct supervisory sessions and performance evaluations. Develop appropriate training and performance plans.
6. Conduct weekly community house meetings and team meetings.
7. Maintain effective intra-agency communication with direct supervisor, Human Resources, Nursing, Fiscal, IT, Quality Improvement, Clinical departments as well as APG.
8. Monitor transitions in and out of program (admissions, discharges, graduations).
9. Pursue activities to enhance personal and professional growth. Attend various workshops and training programs. Participate in internal and external committees, task forces, etc.
10. Promote and integrate Agency mission, values, philosophy and principles.
11. Provide administrative oversight of all staff and program documentation required by fiscal, human rights, and human resources departments.
12. Participate in an on-call rotation. Promptly respond to calls, advise staff accordingly and document.
13. Maintain oversight of the overall facilities budget.
14. Oversee Program staffing to ensure compliance and adequate coverage.
15. Ensure smooth and timely communication between all disciplines involved with supporting a participant (i.e. MHA nursing, MHA’s Clinical Director, DMH, hospitals, primary care, and psychiatrists, etc).
16. Other duties as assigned by the Senior Director of Residential Recovery Services.
Requirements
Required Education and Experience
Residential management experience is required.
Experience working in a community residential setting strongly preferred.
Exposure or experience with individuals who have psychiatric disabilities and/or experience substance misuse strongly preferred.
Experience with group facilitation preferred.
Master’s Degree Preferred, Bachelor’s Degree Accepted with relevant experience.
