The Production Manager plays a key role in organizing and overseeing the manufacturing of goods for the Company. This individual is ultimately responsible for the smooth running of all production lines and the quality of output. They must have deep know-how in production procedures, the ability to direct personnel towards maximum performance, and strong decision-making and problem-solving skills. The goal of this individual is to ensure an efficient and productive manufacturing process that meets customer requirements.

Requirements

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Communicate with other managers to formulate objectives and understand requirements
  • Estimate costs and prepare budgets
  • Organize workflow to meet specifications and deadlines
  • Monitor production to resolve issues
  • Determine amount of necessary resources (workforce, raw materials etc.)
  • Approve maintenance work, purchasing of equipment, etc.
  • Ensure output meets quality standards
  • Enforce health and safety precautions
  • Report to upper management
  • Oversee material control

Other Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Oversees Buyer/Planner, Quality Inspector and Group Lead, Manufacturing, and Production Test
  • Oversees hiring and training of new employees
  • Oversees schedules of manufacturing team
  • Oversees progress on all work orders moving through the lab
  • Oversees decision making on work order assignments and order status based on changing demands
  • Provides constructive and timely performance feedback
  • Provides support and clear instruction to Buyer/Planner, Quality Inspector and Group Lead, Manufacturing, and Production Test to maximize time and individual sets
  • Oversees discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.

  • Knowledge of budgeting concepts
  • Experience in reporting on key production metrics

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Project Management, Operations Management, Business Administration, or related discipline.
  • Prior experience in a microelectronic manufacturing environment.
  • Prior experience with project and/or operations management.
  • Prior experience using ERP Software (E2 MFG System preferred.)
  • Prior experience using Microsoft Project and Visio, preferred.

Other Requirements:

  • Must be available to work at the 900 Mount Laurel Circle, Shirley, MA headquarters location (remote work/telecommuting arrangements and relocation assistance are both unavailable.)
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the United States (employment visa sponsorship is not available.)
