Bevi is on a mission to disrupt the beverage supply chain and replace single-use water bottles with smart water machines. Bevi is actively looking for a Product Sustaining Engineer to join our engineering team. As a Product Sustaining Engineer, you will play a crucial role in supporting the technical aspects of Bevi’s existing products. Working with stakeholders, you will take projects from initial scoping, and propose solutions that satisfy the product requirements. You will communicate updates to the team while identifying and highlighting key challenges along the way. As a Product Sustaining Engineer at Bevi, you will:

  • Work collaboratively with Quality, Product, and Manufacturing teams to understand challenges, establish success criteria, and lead investigations for Bevi’s top areas of improvement
  • Support product failure investigations by gathering data and using root cause analysis techniques
  • Work with Project Managers to clearly communicate status updates, challenges, and timing impacts
  • Lead design reviews on your projects, clearly communicating opportunities and risks, and proposed next steps. Be an active participant in others’ design reviews
  • Iterate through designs from benchtop prototypes to manufacturing ready models
  • Create manufacturing ready 3D CAD and 2D drawings, implement into PLM system
  • Work with suppliers to improve designs and initiative process changes
  • Drive work independently while managing ambiguity, and be proactive in managing and communicating risk
  • Keep multiple projects moving, prioritizing resourcing and requirements accordingly
  • Develop and execute tests to prove performance, reduce risk, and build product reliability
  • Provide guidance to New Product Development team on new designs to ensure reliability and cost targets are met
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as required to contribute to the overall success of the team and organization

Requirements

  • 4+ years of full time experience within the consumer product or related industry
  • Experience in identifying and designing solutions that require integration with mechanical and electrical components
  • Skilled SOLIDWORKS user, with experience working collaboratively in large assemblies, and creating toleranced 2D part and assembly drawings (experience with GD&T a plus)
  • Strong tradeoff analysis skills and ability to drive to a final solution while evaluating multiple alternatives simultaneously
  • Professional experience designing for various manufacturing processes such as injection molding, stamping, and casting. Working knowledge of materials used in these processes
  • Strong hands-on skills to build and test prototypes
  • Proficiency and ability to use mechanical power/hand tools (drill press, saw, press, etc) and electrical instrumentation (meters, power supplies, pressure sensors, etc)
  • Strong documentation, presentation and communication skills to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Ability to be in the office 3+ days per week

Additional Skills

  • Experience with data collection tools such as DataQ, Labview, or similar
  • Experience with PDM systems
  • Experience with fluid and/or hydraulic systems is a plus
  • Experience working with 3D printers is a plus
  • Experience with consumer products, UL, NSF, interpreting regulations
  • Able to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs

Ability to travel up to 10% domestically.
