Join the team at JCC Greater Boston as an Office Administrator for Camp Kaleidoscope, our Summer Day Camp! This dynamic position offers a unique opportunity to be part of a vibrant and inclusive camp community. As the Office Administrator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the camp by providing administrative support, managing camper registrations, coordinating transportation logistics, and maintaining communication with camp families and staff. As an Office Administrator at Camp Kaleidoscope, you will work closely with the Camp Director and other camp leadership to ensure a successful summer camp experience for all participants. You will handle camper registrations and paperwork, manage transportation logistics, process payments, and assist with various administrative tasks. Additionally, you will serve as a point of contact for camp families, providing information and addressing any questions or concerns.

Schedule

Full-time seasonal: June 17 through August 16. 8:30 am – 4:30 pm, Mondays through Fridays

Responsibilities

  • Manage the summer camp office, including communication, attendance, supplies and related documentation
  • Manage Bus Attendance and Camper/ Staff Attendance logs
  • Update Staff and Camper information in our database system
  • Input scheduling changes as needed
  • Organize and manage supplies, snacks, lunch, staff food, lost and found
  • Initiate and answer calls and emails from parents

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree preferred or related field experience

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted at the JCC’s discretion to meet minimum criteria.

  • Knowledge and familiarity with the needs of families with young children  
  • Outstanding project management skills, ability to manage deadlines with great attention to detail while maintaining high-quality standards
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to multitask and manage situations effectively and diplomatically; ability to adapt to evolving needs and circumstances
  • Must be a self-starter who takes the initiative
  • Superb interpersonal and active listening skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Works well independently and with others, building/sustaining collaborative working relationships
  • Ability to build strong relationships with a variety of stakeholders
