Job Summary
Reporting to the Senior Director of Network Engagement & Program Success, the Manager of Network Engagement & Program Success will enhance network engagement by connecting with and learning from affiliates to create trainings, learning materials, and events in response to the needs of YouthBuild program staff. The Manager’s role will be centered on promoting positive youth development, increasing a shared sense of community among affiliates, and enhancing network performance standards.
The Manager is a field-facing position, providing technical assistance and cultivating relationships with staff in the field. This role will be a key part of YouthBuild USA’s efforts to elevate positive youth development, education, career pathways, leadership, and program sustainability.
The Manager is an empathic leader that will play a pivotal part in shaping the present and future of YouthBuild USA’s mission and positioning the organization for greater network impact and outcomes for Opportunity Youth.
Requirements
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
Connect and Learn with YouthBuild Programs:
- Establish regular, consistent communication with 25-30 YouthBuild programs to cultivate a relationship and connection. This will primarily be done by conducting at least 7-10 Connect and Learn calls per quarter.
- Document interactions with the programs in the portfolio using Salesforce.
- Write quarterly reports to identify best practices, common questions, opportunities, and challenges among the programs in the portfolio.
- Connect local program staff to resources, trainings or content experts (YouthBuild staff) to facilitate greater network impact and outcomes for YouthBuild students.
- Conduct site visits (at least 2-3 per year) to evaluate program implementation and provide recommendations for program enhancement.
- Serve as the main point of contact for affiliates in portfolio to answer general questions, provide information and updates on behalf of YouthBuild USA. Each program in your portfolio should know you and you should know them.
- Ensure all programs in portfolio are in good standing with the affiliated Network (currently = current with dues and DYB data). Provide support and guidance to ensure affiliates in portfolio remain in good standing and are on track for re-affiliation.
Technical Assistance, Problem Solving, and Tailored Support to the Field:
- Provide technical assistance to address specific challenges faced by YouthBuild programs. This involves offering solutions, sharing best practices, and making connections with other internal teams.
- Understand the unique needs of each program and offer customized support to help them achieve their goals. This will involve developing specialized resources or training materials, planning and hosting sessions and events.
- Play a lead role in planning and executing quarterly “YouthBuild Amplified” capacity building webinars.
- Create and develop training resources, such as one-pagers, recorded trainings, webinars, or toolboxes.
Support Regional Convenings, Educational Conferences, Learning Communities, and the Annual National Directors Association Conference:
- Provide support and guidance for regional convenings and educational conferences for programs across different regions.
- Assist in coordinating logistics, securing speakers, facilitating networking opportunities to enhance learning and collaboration among participants.
- Play an active role in the planning and execution of the annual National Directors Association conference
- Ensure that these events prioritize diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging, creating spaces that are accessible, welcoming, and representative of the diverse YouthBuild community.
Grant Management
- Contribute to the dissemination, collection, and evaluation of Impact and Innovation grants.
- Lead the collection and evaluation of grant reports to identify opportunities and challenges

This role requires a deep understanding of YouthBuild’s global operations, non-profit program management, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and individuals across different cultural contexts. The Manager of Network Engagement and Program Success must be adept at using database tools like Salesforce and possess strong analytical skills to identify trends and insights from data.
Requirements and Skills
- A minimum of five years of relevant experience, preferably in the nonprofit sector, and with global outreach.
- Cultural competency, a global mindset, and cultural humility.
- Interest and experience in youth development, experience with YouthBuild programming is preferred.
- Strong relationship-building and management skills.
- Strategic thinker with strong project management skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with high attention to detail
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team within a diverse community; ability to work with minimal direction and guidance after initial instruction.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure, meet deadlines, handle multiple requests, and provide detailed and accurate execution of various tasks simultaneously.

Compensation
YouthBuild USA offers competitive salary and benefits, including health coverage, a 401(k) savings plan, life insurance, and disability benefits. Salary $60 - $70K.
