About the Job:

We are seeking detail-oriented, extremely thorough, diligent, self-starting individuals who enjoy working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. The Financial Accountant (FA) will be a key member of the Accounting and Finance Department, and a critical member of the financial accounting and financial reporting functions of the business. The Financial Accountant plays an integral part in the organization’s operations and month-end close process. 

You will develop, implement, and maintain best practices in accounting and financial reporting, including account reconciliations, general ledger maintenance, expense report approval, and month-end close procedures. You will manage Accounts Payable, ensuring timely invoice processing with vendors and internal stakeholders. Success in this role requires staying updated on financial regulations and practices, participating in educational opportunities, and networking within the industry.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the accounts payable process, including communication with vendors and ensuring invoices are coded properly in the GL.
  • Play an integral part in the month-end close process, including preparing journal entries and reconciliations as well as analyzing monthly trends..
  • Record prepaid expenses, fixed and intangible assets, other assets and various accruals.
  • Perform various treasury duties including reconciling cash and preparing vendor payments.
  • Assist in the preparation of documentation for the year-end audit.
  • Participate in department or cross-functional projects/initiatives.
  • Identify areas of opportunity to improve visibility and design the process to do things differently.
  • Implement the processes needed to capture and report the right data in key internal systems.
  • Continually develop, expand, and improve month-end close and financial reporting procedures and help drive the reduction of the close timeline by assessing and streamlining close-related activities.

Requirements

    • 2-4+ years of progressive corporate finance management and public accounting experience (Big 4 experience preferred)
    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
    • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred 
    • Highly detail-oriented and ability to multi-task and balance numerous priorities in a fast-paced operational environment.
    • Strong analytical skills with high proficiency in Excel 
    • Deep knowledge of GAAP and experience in software
    • Takes ownership; ability to set a strategy and motivate others to achieve necessary deliverables
    • Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication, and facilitation skills which will enable him/her to interact with a range of personalities and styles and be able to establish effective relationships of all levels of the organization.

Nice to have: 

    • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred
    • Deep knowledge of GAAP and experience in software
    • Experience working for a large or mid-size  accounting firm
