Position Summary
Editas Medicine is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Intern to join our FP&A team. Reporting to the Senior Manager, FP&A, this position will work collaboratively to support critical financial planning and analysis activities and processes. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with different functions throughout the business and be exposed to various stages of the financial process.
Key Responsibilities:
As the Finance Intern you will be responsible for:
- Applying finance, accounting, and analytical principles to help with routine and ad hoc budgeting, forecasting, and business planning activities as needed.
- Facilitating month-end review through the preparation of financial reports to enable variance analysis, performance commentary, and presentation to management.
- Developing a strong understanding of our financial systems (Adaptive Planning and Oracle Fusion) to make meaningful contributions and enhancements to our tracking and reporting processes.
- Undertaking and participating in special projects designed to develop professional skills and expertise.
Requirements
Required Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel)
- Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or Economics
- Excellent interpersonal, written communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to work within and meet all deadlines while executing on multiple deliverables.
- Self-motivated and strong ability to solve problems effectively and efficiently.
Preferred Qualifications:
Additionally, candidates with the following attributes are preferred:
- Extensive experience with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- A desire to work in the biotech industry and grow in a financial role.
- Power BI experience is a plus
