All In One Accounting is excited to partner with our client to find an experienced Finance Director to join their organization.
Our client is a not for profit whose mission is to provide Afghan girls with a rigorous education that promotes critical thinking, a sense of purpose, and respect for self and others.
Their vision is to build a generation of compassionate and confident Afghan women with the leadership skills to rebuild Afghanistan and guide their homeland into a better future. They offer students an environment where they can focus on their education and potential; a place where they’ll be challenged by a rigorous curriculum and encouraged to take on leadership roles at school and amongst each other.
Currently seeking applicants located in the United States, preferably on the East coast and ideally in MA, to work in a fully remote office environment with ability to hold primary working hours in Eastern Standard Time Zone (EST).
A bit about the Finance Director role:
The Finance Director serves as the finance and accounting leader of the organization and its entities.

Wearing multiple hats and open to a variety of challenges associated with several local and overseas entities, including one in its infancy. Flexibility and adaptability and ability to shift focus quickly. Collaborative and an ability to engage with multiple constituents. Your specific responsibilities include:
Finance Leadership
- Assume responsibility for all finance and accounting policies, procedures, oversight and staffing within the organization.
- Supervise and manage the ERP system. Maintain and consistently enhance the functionalities, workflows, integrations, and automations.
- Ensure that all financial transactions across the enterprise are recorded and entered accurately and promptly. Consolidate financial reports for multiple entities.
- Ensure compliance with documented internal controls across all entities. Continuously improve these internal controls.
- Maintain the accounting manual and enhance documentation of internal procedures.
- Oversee and support financial management and accounting staff, providing leadership and mentorship.
- Lead the annual budgeting process in close collaboration with all departments and entity leaders.
- Regularly communicate with management and other team members in the US and Rwanda.
- Review and present monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated financial statements to the president, the Treasurer, the Finance and Investment Committees of the Board, and the Board itself.
- Act as the staff liaison for the Board of Directors Finance and Audit Committee as well as the Investment Committee.
- Deliver timely and fully costed evaluations for proposals related to school improvement and development initiated by the organization’s president, ensuring their sustainability through long-term financial plans.
- Maintain or establish a comprehensive set of finance and financial governance policies.
- Liaise with the Construction Committee and oversee the financial management of construction projects.
Requirements
The successful candidate will have:
• CPA or CMA required
• 5+ years’ experience in nonprofit accounting
• 5+ years of finance or accounting leadership/management
• Proficient in using and managing NetSuite ERP
• Experience with various platforms such as Navan, Bloomerang, ADP
• Advanced Excel abilities
• Fluent in English
• Must be a US Citizen or Green Card Holder
• Must pass a background check
• Must be able to travel to Rwanda at least 2 times per year
Preferred Qualifications:
· Experience working with global and remote teams
· Experience working with schools or complex NGO/nonprofit entities
Benefits
Salary Range: $115,000 - $130,000
Benefits offered include: employer-paid life, long-term, and short-term disability, 401K match (after 6 months), elective health, dental, and vision.
