As a renowned thought leader in this emerging market, InOrder is at an exciting inflection point in our growth and we are looking for a Diverse Business and Program Manager to join our team.
The Diverse Business and Program Manager will work alongside the Director of Operations to develop diversity strategies that optimize business participation for Minority-; Women-; and Veteran-owned Businesses Enterprises (MBE, WBE, and VBE respectively), Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBEs) and other Underutilized Business Enterprises (UBEs) across multiple projects. This candidate will play a vital role engaging with clients, community partners, and diverse businesses, and other key stakeholders, leading collaborative efforts to achieve organizational and project specific goals. This includes writing and presenting diversity plans, reviewing contractual agreements, developing and maintaining progress reports, networking with diverse businesses, monitoring compliance with project diversity goals, and community engagement. This outward facing position is laser focused on advancing equitable procurement initiatives with a keen ability to manage and interpret data, measuring KPIs for targeted results. Must be an effective leader, self-starter, that is result driven with a strong passion for diversity, equity and inclusion and the built environment.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop, implement and execute diversity strategies to support procurement on construction projects; targeting Minority-, Women, -Veteran Business Enterprises (M/W/VBE) and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBE).
- Manage the coordination of subcontractors’ procurement across active construction projects.
- Manage client engagement with internal and external stakeholders to advance diversity goals and objectives.
- Lead coordination with clients and stakeholders to develop diversity plans that align with contractual commitments by awarding authorities.
- Manage and develop strategic partnerships within the AEC community to drive diversity initiatives.
- Manage and lead community engagement events and outreach efforts with the collaboration of partners and stakeholders to foster greater diversity & inclusion.
- Support workforce compliance managers to increase opportunities for local and diverse workforce
- Oversee day-to-day functions that include small business support, workforce compliance, client and community engagement.
- Maintain datasets and run reports to show progress towards project specific diversity goals.
- Participate in weekly project meetings to provide status updates.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Knowledge of the construction industry, and experience working with diverse partners and small businesses.
- Strong understanding of diversity requirements; M/W/VBE; DBE and workforce on active construction sites.
- Proven ability to develop, implement and execute diversity strategies to advance operational goals.
- 3-5 years of work experience managing business and partnership development.
- 3-5 experience in managing procurement and contracts for small businesses.
- Excellent presentation, writing, and communication skills.
