About you
You are a motivated professional passionate about public health data. You are ready to support the planning, development, implementation, maintenance, and evaluation of health data products for public health professionals. You have a strong eye for detail, whether you’re documenting business requirements, populating information in a database, or reviewing evaluation metrics. You take pride in ensuring that products meet the needs of priority audiences and align with best practices and client goals. You enjoy working both independently and collaboratively, and you demonstrate strong organizational and collaboration skills.
What you'll do
- Coordinate data modernization initiative across local public health departments
- Work with technical leads, researchers, project managers, and clients across the data system lifecycle
- Provide logistical support for activities with local public health staff
- Analyze user needs for the data system and draft business requirements
- Conduct data entry and data quality activities, including conversion of legacy paper data to digitized, usable data
- Support and train local health department staff to transition to use of a new data system
- Maintain data and content in digital systems to ensure integrity and accuracy
- Perform quality control (QC) testing on digital products and present organized and actionable findings to your project team
- Contribute to recommendations for product development and improvement based on usability best practices that align with user needs and preferences
- Maintain product documentation, such as governance plans
- Support product testing, such as usability research studies, by working with research team on participant recruitment, data collection, and analysis
- Stay up to date on industry best practices for data systems, and contribute to strategic recommendations based on best practices (e.g., inclusive design, use of AI)
Requirements
- At least 1 year of relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Health Informatics, or a related field
- Experience with health data systems
- Familiarity with environmental health topics
- Understanding of usability principles
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Owns or has access to a vehicle and is willing to travel within Massachusetts
