Full Job Description
The Mental Health Association, Inc. is looking for a Data Specialist to assist the Vice President of Quality and Organizational Impact in the development, implementation and oversight of the MHA’s continuous quality improvement and quality management program. Responsible for maintaining quantitative and qualitative measurement systems, tracking and reporting to maintain compliance with regulations governing the organization. Provide accurate reflection of the quality of administrative and programmatic services, as reflected in metrics and measurable outcomes.
Essential Functions/Position Responsibilities:
· Promote the use of data across the organization. Develop benchmark MHA quality statistics to state and national trends. Work with trade organizations and other human service providers to benchmark specific services. Interpret results and trends. Monitor external environment to anticipate changing trends in quality standards and regulatory standards
· Data Collection and Cleaning: collect, clean and process large datasets to ensure accuracy and reliability for analysis
· Analysis and Interpretation: Exploratory data analysis to identify trends, patterns and correlations. Interpret findings to provide meaningful insights to support agency objectives.
· Support processes to gather key quality metrics from various systems such as state reporting, client information and others. Monitor accuracy and process compliance of information on the systems used for quality reporting.
· Generate reports for various departments summarizing key metrics and highlighting areas for improvement
· Analyze trends from quantitative and qualitative data as compared to targets and expected outcomes. Work with programs to implement processes responsible for positive outcomes across the organization.
· Database Management: Assist in maintaining and updating databases, ensuring data integrity and accessibility for analysis
· Provide necessary documentation for licensing and regulatory audits for the state such as Department of Developmental Services, Department of Mental Health, Bureau of Substance Abuse, MassHealth, HUD, Mass Rehabilitation Commission, Department of Public Health, and others. Work cooperatively with administrative departments on various audits.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
Professional Experience:
· Education: Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field.
· Proficiency in data analysis tools such as SQL, Python, or R. Strong Excel skills are essential.
· Ability to approach problems analytically, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to delivering accurate results.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey complex findings in a clear and understandable manner.
· Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
· Willingness to learn and adapt to new tools, technologies, and methodologies in the rapidly evolving field of data analysis.
· Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to addressing challenges.
· Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage time, prioritize tasks, take initiative, follow through, and work cooperatively as a member of a team.
· Working knowledge of statistics, data collection, outcome measurements
· Meticulous attention to detail to ensure data accuracy and reliability.
