What You’ll Do
As the Communications and Development Manager at Veritas Prep you will support the CEO in the development of partnerships, relationships, funds, and programs to make Veritas Prep the premier charter school in the region.You’ll ensure the organization’s viability by fostering strategic partnerships, creating and marketing innovative programming, and soliciting human and financial resources.
You’ll also be responsible for:
Communications Strategy and Brand Development
- Leverage existing brand materials, including the organization’s identity guide, informational slide decks, flyers, and program descriptions.
- Collaborate with the CEO, school teams, and contractors to hone and implement a cohesive, mission-aligned communications strategy.
- Develop/oversee the creation of website content.
- Develop/oversee the development of materials to enlist partners, including program descriptions, visuals, data, and messaging for a variety of stakeholders.
- Collaborate with and laterally manage teammates to ensure social media is aligned and on brand using guidance set in the communications strategy.
Fund & Resource Development
- Support the board and CEO to develop and execute the annual fundraising plan.
- Support the CEO to cultivate relationships with donors.
- Grow the supporter/prospective donor database.
- Prepare for a potential future capital campaign.
- Research and write grants to fill operating gaps and support program development needs.
- Develop a deep understanding of financials and revenue sources.
Talent Recruitment
- Oversee/implement the talent brand and materials to ensure consistent messaging and presence on all outlets.
- Collaborate with CAO and Principals to source and recruit talent to the VPCS team.
Program Development
- Collaborate with CEO and school teams to codify a vision and plan for college and career programming across grades 5-12 and an overview of early college and work-based learning opportunities.
- Collaborate with the VPCS team to identify needs and enlist regional employers and universities as partners in our college and career programming (e.g., early college, work-based learning, career training and certifications).

- Ability to develop effective strategies that get results

- Ability to synthesize ideas and present them in an engaging way
- Experience working in public education or collaborating with educators
- Leadership and management training and experience
- Experience cultivating strategic partnerships and building strategic relationships in Western Massachusetts.
- Willingness to flex into a variety of work as needed to advance strategic priorities
- Current authorization to work in the United States – a candidate must have such authorization by his or her first day of employment
