Job Description: Cashier at The Black Rose European Bakery

Position Overview: We are seeking a friendly, organized, and customer-oriented individual to join our team as a Cashier at The Black Rose European Bakery. As a key member of our front-of-house staff, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional service and ensuring a positive experience for every customer.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Customer Service Excellence:

• Greet customers warmly and assist them in selecting bakery items.
• Provide knowledgeable answers to questions about our products, ingredients, and pricing.
• Handle customer complaints with professionalism and escalate issues to management when necessary.

• Operate cash register and handle transactions accurately and efficiently.
• Process payments using POS systems and ensure all payments are recorded correctly.
• Maintain a balanced cash drawer at all times and adhere to opening/closing register procedures.
• Track and manage tips received from customers.

• Educate customers on bakery products, including specials and promotions.
• Recommend additional items to complement customer purchases.
• Monitor and replenish merchandise on the sales floor as needed.

• Keep the cashier area clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies.
• Assist in maintaining cleanliness throughout the bakery, including dining areas and restrooms.

• Work closely with other team members to ensure a seamless customer experience.
• Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to fulfill customer orders accurately and promptly.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in customer service or retail preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle high-stress situations calmly.
• Basic math skills and proficiency with cash handling.
• Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Lift and carry bakery products and supplies as needed.
• Ability to bend, stoop, and reach frequently.
