Your Title: Auto Damage Appraiser
Our/Your Location: Massachusetts. This is a field position and will cover Framingham, Milford, Foxborough, Attleboro, Bridgewater, Brockton, Middleborough and other towns in Massachusetts (travel reimbursed by company)
Compensation: $75K+
You Report To: Assistant Vice President of Claims
Join our vibrant team as an experienced Auto Damage Appraiser fluent in Portuguese and/or Spanish. Your role will involve meticulously preparing itemized appraisals using CCCOne, detailing costs of parts, materials, and labor needed to restore vehicles to their pre-damage state. You will promptly submit appraisals to claims personnel and facilitate payments to policyholders and claimants, ensuring efficient claims processing. Additionally, you'll offer expert technical advice on vehicle repair, total losses, parts pricing, garage services, and provide insights on damage causation in accidents.
Your responsibilities will extend to conducting thorough auto repair facility and independent re-inspections, completing supplements where necessary to verify damage or confirm repairs. You will resolve disagreements and negotiate with auto repair facilities, independent adjusters, claimants, and policyholders to achieve resolutions. Your keen eye will also help in evaluating claims for potential fraud or subrogation.

What you will do:
Your duties include, but are not limited to:
- Survey damages, prepare estimates and negotiate settlements. Settlements include reparable vehicles and total losses within your established authority level.
- Authorize payments to the appropriate parties.
- Document the claim file as necessary.
- Complete re-inspections and supplements in a timely manner complying with all state regulations.
- Ensure that service, expense control and public relations are always maintained.
- Complete reports on recovered theft and fire assignments.
- Utilize software system and industry best practices to prepare itemized appraisals indicating costs of parts, materials, and labor necessary to restore damaged vehicles to their pre-damage condition.
- Keep apprised of territorial labor rates, repair techniques, vehicle construction and design, industry trends and applicable state regulations.
- Provide technical advice on vehicle repair, parts costs, garage expertise and opinions on whether specific damage is related to an accident.
- Resolve disagreements and negotiate with auto repair facilities, Independent Adjusters, claimants, and policyholders.
- Maintain a professional image while adhering to company and state regulated guidelines as they pertain to the appraisal process.
- Negotiate around various types of appraisal software and vehicle estimating programs.
- Prepare and document accurate vehicle Actual Cash and Replacement values according to applicable regulatory and corporate guidelines.
- Complete accurate and timely field appraisals, drive-in appraisals, supplements, and re-inspections on damaged vehicles within the established service level agreements.
- Adhere to all appraisal and estimating guidelines, procedures, and regulatory mandates.
- Negotiate with customers or repair shop appraisers for proper repairs to vehicles in a safe, cost-effective manner with a high level of integrity.
- Frequent oral communication with customers is required and must be timely.
- Ensure our Customer Service and Productivity standards are being met.
What you bring
- Valid Massachusetts Auto Damage Appraiser License & valid driver's license with favorable driving record.
- 3+ years of experience as an Auto Claims Appraiser.
- Portuguese and/or Spanish proficiency preferred.
- Experience creating appraisals on CCCOne preferred.
- Ability to work outside in all weather conditions and drive long distances.
- Sound negotiation and problem-solving skills.
