Full Job Description
Mental Health Association is hiring for a Bachelor's Level Clinician. The Clinician will engage and assess participants of the BSAS Low Threshold Housing Program using a trauma-informed, person-centered approach. Complete eligibility and intake assessments. Write Adult Comprehensive Assessments and Individualized Action Plans with the participants' strengths, goals, and hopes at the forefront of treatment planning. Assess participants for risk and engage in safety planning with a harm-reduction lens. Support the BSAS Low Threshold team in assessing participant needs and providing trauma-informed interventions. Complete documentation thoroughly and in a timely manner. Perform responsibilities professionally, in accordance with MHA’s Core Values (Respect, Integrity, and Compassion), policies, practices, program funding and applicable regulatory agency guidelines.
Position’s Essential Functions
- Complete eligibility assessments for referred participants
- Complete intake assessments at time of enrollment
- Complete risk assessments and safety planning with a harm-reduction lens
- Complete initial Adult Comprehensive Assessments and Individualized Action Plans and update every six months
- Support the BSAS LTH team in assessing participant needs and providing trauma-informed interventions
- Use a trauma-informed, person-centered, and harm-reduction approach in engaging with participants
Requirements
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Valid driver’s license, sufficient automobile insurance, acceptable driving record, and a safe reliable vehicle during working hours.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage time, prioritize tasks, take initiative, follow through, and work cooperatively as a member of a team.
- Good oral, written, computer, and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to adapt to the changing needs of the program participants.
- Strong interpersonal skills, patience, caring, and compassion.
- Must be able to pass and maintain certifications in CPR and first aid.
- Must be at least twenty-one years old.
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in human services or relevant field required
- Requires six months of applicable experience. Experience with individuals with mental health and/or substance use challenges or individuals with a history of housing instability preferred.
