The Retail Banking Group is responsible for delivering outstanding service to our clients via our Massachusetts-based branch network, including personal and small business deposit services, as well as portfolio residential lending.
Under the direction of the Branch Manager, the Assistant Branch Manager (ABM) is responsible for communicating and executing the day to day operations and performance standards of the branch. The Assistant Branch Manager will assist the Branch Manager in planning, conducting and monitoring sales activities to ensure deeper customer relationships. The Assistant Branch Manager will be expected to act independently, in the absence of the Branch Manager. Personally executes an extremely high level of customer service and models and coaches these behaviors to the staff.
Responsibilities:
- Assists the Branch Manager by recruiting, developing and retaining highly effective teams through ongoing “bench” building activities as well as consistent coaching and development sessions.
- Responsible for ensuring the branch team is operating in compliance with state and federal mandated bank regulations, Bank Secrecy Act, risk management and Hingham Institution for Savings specific policies and procedures.
- Provide ideas and innovation for problem resolution, product and service advancements and efficiency improvements
- Independently runs the day to day branch functions in accordance with the guidelines set forth by the Branch Manager and other senior bank management.
- Personally responsible for providing world class client experience as well as modeling and coaching these behaviors to the other branch staff.
- Leads by example to ensure the highest ethical standard of execution by team members. Doing what is right all the time without cutting corners.
- Attends mandatory regulatory and compliance training.
- May be required to operate a teller drawer as necessary
- May assist the Branch Manager in writing performance reviews.
- May be required to execute consumer and business account opening as well as customer product and service maintenance.
Requirements
- Strong understanding of Branch Operations
- 3+ years of banking or related experience
- Basic computer skills - familiarity with Google GSuite preferred
- Advanced customer service skills
- Creative problem solving that maintains the regulatory and ethical standards of the bank
