About the Role…
Salary.com is competitively positioned as a leading enterprise resource for compensation data, software, consulting, and education. As a Salary.com Advertising Copywriter, you will be responsible for the development and execution of content and ad copy to support all stages of the customer/prospect lifecycle. This position reports to the Vice President of Content Marketing and partners closely with Marketing, Product Marketing, and Demand Generation.
- Remote with one day per a week in the office, located in Waltham, Massachusetts
- Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5:30pm
- $88,000- $93,000 Salary range, Base + Bonus
This role involves creating original material that explains the principles of compensation and compensation management and highlighting SDC solutions. The writer will write direct response ad copy that motivates the reader to act for various ad channels including search ads, landing page copy, creative ads, and more. Content will align with current industry trends and interests, while educating a community about compensation management. The writer will need to be able to build strong relationships with the editor in chief, in-house compensation experts, product specialists, and key marketing executives.
The writer will build a library of original content that includes articles, blog posts and white papers. The content will be based on research and the insights of the key executives. Performance will be measured, in part by the amount of engagement and conversions that their copy encourages (click throughs).
Requirements
A Day in the Life…
- Create direct marketing emails for 20 personas/niches each week
- Generate direct response copy for Google advertising across as many as 100 keywords
- Support other areas in need of copywriting/copy editing
- Conduct research to better understand the target audience and incorporate insights into the copy to enhance its effectiveness.
- Stay abreast of trends in advertising, copywriting, and related fields to ensure copy remains relevant and impactful.
- Be the subject matter expert leveraging best practices on how to write copy that converts
- Test and refine advertising messages based on feedback and performance metrics.
- Build collaborative relationship cross functionally
- Develop writing cadence that accounts for editorial feedback
- Develop and adhere to style guide
- Develop use case specific understanding of SDC products
- Create content to drive new business and customer engagement.
- Work with product marketing to create content for Salary.com’s web presence and ensure accuracy and consistency with core messaging framework.

About You…
- 5+ years of related experience
- Demonstrated direct response email and ad copywriting experience in a high-volume setting
- Familiarity with the development of effective Google Ads and direct response copywriting
- Demonstrated ability to write about the same topic for extended periods
- Deep familiarity with the HR/HRTech landscape is required
- Bachelor’s Degree in English, HR, or related fields preferred. MBA preferred but not required.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects on time and on budget and work effectively within a cross-departmental team.
