Wireless Engineer

Epic Scientific is seeking a skilled Wireless RF Engineer to support the testing and evaluation of commercial technologies to help shape the future of military communication systems. Join our dynamic team in a role that combines technical expertise with hands-on lab and field testing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Test and evaluate cutting-edge wireless technologies for potential military applications.
• Configure wireless networks using proprietary vendor tools and an in-depth understanding of the TCP/IP networking framework, focusing on data plane communication.
• Collaborate with wireless technology vendors, providing feedback on product performance and integration.
• Work closely with remote engineering teams to integrate wireless solutions into a system-of-systems framework for military communications.
• Conduct and support lab and field tests, analyzing key wireless metrics such as Signal to Noise Ratio (SNR), Packet Error Rate (PER), receiver sensitivity, latency, and signal strength.
• Utilize electronic test instruments such as spectrum analyzers, signal generators, power delivery analyzers, oscilloscopes, and channel emulators for precise evaluation.
• Conduct throughput testing using tools like iPerf or MGEN to measure network performance.

Requirements

• Strong understanding of wireless technologies, including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, LTE/5G, MIMO, Modulation Coding Schemes, Beamforming, and Low Probability of Intercept/Detection (LPI/LPD).
• Experience with configuring and troubleshooting wireless networks and an understanding of the TCP/IP framework.
• Hands-on experience with electronic test instruments, including spectrum analyzers and signal generators.
• Familiarity with wireless communication metrics and performance testing tools.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills for reporting test results and collaborating with vendors and engineering teams.
