We are seeking an experienced Vice President of Engineering to lead our development team in building innovative cybersecurity solutions. The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise with proven leadership abilities to drive product development from early stage through market launch, with a focus on Cloud Perimeter Security and Attack Surface Management (ASM).
SixMap protects some of the world’s largest and most complex government and corporate enterprises with a continuous threat exposure management (CTEM) platform. The SixMap platform is powered by an advanced computational mapping engine that quickly discovers and continuously monitors the unique contours of the extended enterprise’s Internet-facing assets across IPv4 and IPv6. Upon providing cyber defenders this comprehensive enterprise visibility, the platform complements this awareness with contextual threat intelligence and a suite of remediation measures. Responsibilities
- Lead and scale a small engineering team, fostering a culture of innovation and technical excellence
- Own the technical strategy and roadmap for our cybersecurity product development
- Make key architectural decisions while balancing technical debt, feature development, and market needs
- Collaborate with product management, sales and leadership to define and execute product vision
- Establish engineering best practices, processes, and metrics
- Drive recruitment, mentorship, and professional development of engineering talent
- Manage technical aspects of customer and partner relationships
- Ensure security best practices are embedded throughout the development lifecycle
- Participate in Senior Leadership meetings to drive companies overall strategy
Requirements
- Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of engineering experience in cybersecurity product development
- 5+ years of engineering leadership experience, including direct management of engineering teams
- Proven track record of successfully bringing early-stage products to market
- Deep understanding of cybersecurity landscape, threats, and solutions
- Experience with modern development practices, tools, and methodologies
- Strong technical architecture and system design capabilities
- Excellence in cross-functional collaboration and communication
- Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in Attack Surface Management (ASM) or related domains such as:
- Vulnerability Management and Assessment
- Digital Asset Discovery and Inventory
- Threat Intelligence and Exposure Management
- Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM) or CNAPP
- Security Rating Services
- External Threat Intelligence Platforms
- Expertise in technologies commonly used in ASM solutions:
- Asset Discovery and Enumeration
- Port Scanning and Service Identification
- Web Application Security Testing
- DNS Analysis and Monitoring
- Track record of successful product launches in the cybersecurity space
- Advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- Experience with relevant security frameworks (MITRE ATT&CK, CIS Controls) and compliance requirements
- History of contributing to technical strategy and product roadmaps
