Full Job Description
As Supply Chain Planner, you will be responsible for ensuring that the Coffee production team has the necessary materials and supplies to meet production demands. Analyze inventory levels, forecast future demand, and coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of packaging and corrugate materials.
What are the Key Deliverables in this role?
• Process and analyze production forecast using a combination of published forecast and market trends to anticipate demand for packaging materials.
• Monitor inventory levels, identify potential stock shortages or excesses, and take corrective actions to mitigate risks and meet inventory targets.
• Conduct regular inventory audits to ensure accuracy and reconcile discrepancies.
• Work with packaging material suppliers to manage prices, ensure timely delivery, and maintain quality standards.
• Coordinate with production and logistics teams to schedule and prioritize orders based on inventory levels and production schedule.
• Implement and enforce FIFO inventory principles in conjunction with quality team to ensure the rotation and usage of materials based on their respective manufacturing or expiration dates, thereby minimizing the risk of product obsolescence and reducing waste.
• Generate reports to track inventory levels, consumption rates, supplier performance, and other key metrics.
• Plan and place orders for packaging materials based on quarterly and monthly material requirements.
• Ensure timely payment by processing invoices and resolving any discrepancies that may arise before sending them to the accounts payable department.
• Work with suppliers to close out product defects in a timely manner and ensure credits are received.
• Effectively communicate with both management and production teams regarding material availability.
• The ability to analyze data, identify patterns, and use that information to make informed decisions.
• Keen eye for detail and be able to spot potential issues or errors in inventory data, purchase orders, or other documents.
• Proficiency in inventory management software, supply chain management software, and other relevant tools is essential for efficient management of materials.
• The ability to quickly identify and resolve issues related to inventory management, supply chain disruptions, and other challenges is crucial for success in this role.
• Adaptable to changes in demand, production schedules, and supplier availability to ensure that materials are delivered on time.
Requirements
What are the Critical success factors for the Role?
• A bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, or a related field is required for this role
• A minimum of 2-4 years of experience in materials planning or a related field
• Strong understanding of supply chain management, logistics, and inventory
• Proficiency in relevant software tools such as ERP systems and WMS is necessary
• Excellent oral and written communication skills to ensure clear to suppliers and internal cross functional partners
• Prior CPG experience
• Detail orientated
• Basic negotiation skills
• Understanding of factory operations
• Proficiency in Excel
