IT Concepts is seeking to expand its team with a Sr. GIS Developer. The selected applicant will have the opportunity to work in a collaborative environment to support development and configuration of GIS applications, perform scripting against databases/geodatabases, automation activities, and providing technical advising and implementation of Web and GIS concepts and products.
Location: This position can be performed remotely but candidates must reside within 2 hour driving radius of Woodlawn, MD for as needed meetings.
- Engage with clients on a regular basis, implementing technical solutions while fostering organizational GIS growth and system stability.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external teams to provide regular project updates.
- Advise on best practices for GIS data standardization, ArcGIS user/group management, and geodatabase strategies.
- Work independently or in collaboration with members of product and design teams.
- Collaborate with partnering tech teams to ensure seamless integrated end-to-end solutions.
- Open mindset to working with and picking up new technologies to achieve design, code, testing, and deployment tasks.
- Research and learn new methodologies and technologies and bring new knowledge to the clients.
- Excellent problem-solving, writing, interpersonal, presentation, and organizational skills
Requirements
- 10+ years of work experience with 5+ years of specific GIS developing experience
- Must have a well-rounded understanding of the ArcGIS ecosystem, including ArcGIS Enterprise/Online, ArcGIS Pro workflows.
- Must be skilled full-stack GIS developer with ability to work alone on all phases of development.
- Must be proficient in programming languages: Python and SQL.
- Must have expert knowledge of ArcGIS Online and WebMap Configurations.
- Should have strength in front-end visualizations with Tableau experience desired.
- Should have significant experience in configuring in extending ArcGIS Web Applications.
- Should be proficient in developing geoprocessing/automation tools, data ETL pipelines.
- Should be proficient in leveraging REST APIs.
- Must have the ability to effectively communicate complex technical solutions with technical and non-technical teams.
- Design solutions, write and test code, automation testing & deployments.
- A Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Geographic Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Information Systems from an accredited University, or a current equivalent GIS professional certification.
