IT Concepts is seeking a Sr. Tableau BI Developer who will support several projects at a federal agency. The position is located in Woodlawn, MD. The qualified candidate should have strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with sharp attention to detail.
Become part of a team to help a large government agency support research and statistics efforts that help agency officials make recommendations on reforms. IT Concepts is seeking a Sr. Tableau BI Developer.
Responsibilities:
- Participate in discussions with business/IT stakeholders on critical reporting needs and provide architecture options and recommendations
- Develop various SSIS packages for managing current and historical data using various transformations.
- Develop, implement, and maintain Tableau analytical dashboards to support business and IT groups across the Digital organization
- Design and implement reporting and visualization for unstructured and structured data sets
- Write and optimize SQL queries
- Provide technical support in defining a business partner approach to self-service
- Create a template for Dashboards/Dashlets/Reports to be used by other BI Analyst and End Users
- Design, develop and operationalize dashboards and reports for Senior and Executive Management
- Provide expertise on how to use the Tableau in performing statistical Analysis
- Provide best practices and industry standards to guide BI strategy development
- Ensure a consistent design and/or approach for analytics across the business areas
- Analysis, design and development services for Tableau workbooks in support of the Analytics environment
- Design and implement complex reporting required by the business
- Design and build complex SQL queries and stored procedures in a data warehouse to support ETL, data integration, data staging, data modeling, reporting, and self-service ad hoc analysis
- Design and implement Power BI Reports and Tableau Dashboards
- Experience in creating prototypes to demo design and create requirements
- Enhance the BI environment through continuous improvement following standards and best practices.
- Works with other teams to maintain an optimal BI environment.
- Assists users with the use of BI applications to drive business value
- Document process/workflow and ability to evaluate business processes and identify opportunities for improvement
- Monitors and maintains system performance and provides statistical reporting
- Participate in requirement gathering, resolving ambiguity and conflicts, and ensuring accuracy.
- Assist with BI test executions and implement performance tuning as required
- Performs systems/database modification impact analysis
- Communicate effectively in verbal and written English.
- Demonstrate ability to work in a team environment and help resolve issues
- Communicate status/risks to the manager regarding delivering solutions on time
Location: This position is remote, but must live in the United states and be able to work core hours between 6 am and 6pm EST.
Requirements
- 10+ years of BI tools and implementation experience
- 8+ years of knowledge and experience with BI reporting and visualization tools: Power BI, Tableau
- 5+ years of experience in Cloud-based technologies for Data Warehousing and BI initiatives
- Well-organized and able to prioritize and coordinate simultaneous tasks and projects while addressing customer needs
- Strong interpersonal oral, and written communication skills
- Multiple BI Project lifecycle implementations preferred – Planning, Blueprint, Implementation, Go-Live, and Support
Preferred:
- Oracle experience is a plus
- Strong conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical development discipline, computer science, or other relevant discipline is preferred.
- Within commutable distance to Woodlawn, MD

- Willing and able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Clearance
