Senior Network Engineer
Systems Integration & Development (SID) is an award-winning IT solutions provider headquartered in Rockville, MD and is currently seeking a talented Senior Network Engineer. This is a full-time position available onsite (hybrid) in New Carrollton, MD.
Key Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot and resolve network issues. Provide Level 3 routing and switching support.
- Provide Support for BareMetal setups (network device refreshes)
- Monitor incoming tickets and take the appropriate action, including updates and closures.
- Provide “state of the network” status reports throughout the shift.
- Troubleshoot VPN access tickets
- Monitor and open tickets for selected network events.
- Additional duties as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- 3+ years of experience in network engineering or a related role
- Deep understanding of TCP/IP, routing protocols (OSPF, BGP), and VPNs
- Troubleshooting WAN and LAN network issues with connectivity
- Experience with network security practices and tools
- Hands-on experience with Cisco and Juniper devices
- Ability to troubleshoot complex network issues effectively
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Relevant certifications (such as CCNA or CCNP) are preferred
