Senior Database Engineer

Hummingbirds Innovations is seeking a talented and experienced Senior Database Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing large complex databases and SQL scripts to meet application functionality and performance requirements. You will work closely with stakeholders, application developers, and business teams to ensure the successful design and delivery of data-driven solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize large, complex DB schemas, SQL scripts, and objects
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data-related technical issues and provide solutions
• Work closely with application developers and business teams to design and deliver data-driven solutions
• Implement processes and procedures for product/project development and release
• Ensure data integrity in enterprise systems
• Participate in code reviews to validate code quality and effectiveness
• Liaise with developers to improve applications and establish best practices
• Publish documentation and collaborative information using internal tools

Requirements

Requirements:
Data Quality - Evaluates system performance and design and its effect on data quality. Collaborates with database developers to improve data collection and storage processes. Runs data queries to identify coding issues and data exceptions and cleaning data.

Gathers data from primary or secondary data sources to identify and interpret trends. Reports data analysis findings to management to inform business decisions and prioritize information system needs.

b)     Data Quality Analyst Requirements:

-  In-depth knowledge of data quality methods and tests.

-  Experience with statistical packages, such as MS Excel, SAS, and SPSS

-  Exceptional analytical skills.

-  Advanced problem-solving skills.

-  Knowledge of best practices in data analysis.

-  Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

-  Practical experience conditioning large data sets (500k+ rows)

-  Knowledge of creating/managing Tableau workbooks and visualizations

Nice to have:

• Experience with ETL and data integration tools
• Familiarity with business intelligence tools
• Experience with Jira and Confluence
• Knowledge of version control systems like Git
